Simple for Valentine

Good morning. Today I'm showing you guys a manicure I'll be rocking tomorrow on Valentine's Day. Valentine's has never been that special to me and I do think it's that way for most of the Finnish people, on a way it reminds me of Halloween, people know about it but don't really care or celebrate it. Even though I'm not a big fan of Valentine's, I wanted to do a manicure but I felt quite indimidated by all the pink and red manicures that have been filling up my read list for the past two weeks or so. I didn't feel comfortable doing a typical Valentine's Day manicure, so I took a step back and tried to pull my thoughts together.

Huomenta.

On Friday I received a mini haul including three sort of classic and very well known shades from OPI, Alpine Snow, Black Onyx and Bubble Bath. I was looking at the trio on my desk and thought... Why not? After I decided on the colors, I rummaged through my decoration drawer and picked up striping tape and stickers. The only themes suitable for Valentine's Day ended up being a hint of pink and a heart shaped sticker.

Basecoat: Nail Envy by OPI
Basecolor: Bubble Bath by OPI
Black: Black Onyx by OPI
White: Alpine Snow by OPI
Stickers from eBay
Striping tape from a swap
Topcoat: Seche Vite

What will you do on Valentine's Day? Will you go all out with your nails or keep it simple?
Millaisen lakkauksen teet ystävänpäiväksi? Hullutteletko vai pidätkö lakkauksen yksinkertaisena?

  4. I love this, very elegant. My nails are red and sparkly mainly because I had a professional mani for my birthday celebrations on Saturday in a red/ gold colour (not sure what the shade or even the brand was) which chipped slightly this morning on one finger, so I covered the lot with Deborah Lippman red glitter. It's a bit over the top as the manicurist insisted on making my nails all the same length so they're quite short, but I like it.

I love your blog, I've been reading it for a while but this is my first comment.
