Nubar: Prism collection

Hi ladies! Today I have you the Nubar Prism collection as swatches. :) As you probably know, this collection is a bit older, it was Nubar's 2010 spring collection. Nevertheless, I hope these are helpful even to someone of you! :)

Huomenta! Tänään vuorossa viime viikolla lupailemani Nubarin Prism -kokoelman swatchit. Monet varmaan muistavat, että tämä on vähän vanhempi kokoelma, se ilmestyi keväällä 2010. Jospa tää kuitenkin olisi avuksi jollekulle. :)

Nubar Spark

Nubar Spark - 3 coats

 Let's start with this swatch rumba with a polish that Scrangie described as "work appropriate holo" and I agree with you. Spark is a gorgeous, taupe/beige polish with fine holographic particles. The holographic particles are very subtle but it looks beautiful in good lighting. This polish was quite sheer but it built up nicely and covered with three coats. The finish was also very very smooth.

Ekana mulla on lakka, jota Scrangie kuvasi sanoin "työhön sopiva holo" ja se on totta. Spark on tosi kaunis, ihana vaaleanruskea/beige lakka joka on täynnäänsä hienoa hologrammi-hohdetta. Holo-efekti on aika mieto, mutta näyttää kauniille kun valo osuu kynsiin. Lakka oli aika ohutta, mutta peitti tosi hyvin kolmella kerroksella. Tää myös kuivui tosi sileäksi ja pinnan tiimoilta ei välttämättä tarvitse päällyslakkaa.

Nubar Jewel

Nubar Jewel - 2 coats

Next we have Jewel, a darker, a bit coppery brown shade which almost has a duochrome vibe in it Holograph particles is clearly a lot bigger in this one but it's also sparse. As the particles are this big, the polish dried a bit gritty, so I wanted to add a topcoat on this. This was probably my least favorite shade of these. I love the base... But somehow the holographic is a bit... Off. Even in this photo you can see how gritty the polish looks. So not my cuppa tea.

Seuraavaksi Jewel, tummempi, kuparisempi ruskea lakka, jossa on vähän duochromemaisia vivahteita. Niin kuin kuvasta näkyy, hologrammihiput ovat tässä huomattavasti isompia, mutta niitä on aika harvassa. Koska hile on niin isoa, tää lakka kuivuikin röpelöiseksi ja tämä todella vaati päällyslakkaa. Tää ei lukeudu mun suosikkeihin lainkaan. Pohjaväri on aivan ihana... Mutta holo tuntuu olevan vähän väärässä paikassa mun makuun. Jopa tästä kuvasta näkyy kuinka karkea lakan pinta on... Ei todellakaan mun juttu.

Nubar Gem

Nubar Gem - 3 coats

Now this is more like it. Gem is a polish that looks absolutely gorgeous on the bottle! It's a beautiful, greyish purple duochrome filled with the same size glitter as Jewel. The polish also dried a bit gritty but somehow it's not so "in your face" with this. The holographic particles also seem a bit more intense in this one as in Jewel. I do like this one... But it's still a bit... Mehh to me, can you understand what I mean? It has the right ingredients but it just doesn't work 100%.

Tää on jo vähän sinnepäin! Gem näyttää aivan upealta pullossa, eikö? Kaunis, harmaan violetti duochrome, jossa mukana samaa hologlitteriä, kuin Jewelissä. Tääkin lakka kuivui karkeaksi ja vaatii päällyslakan, mutta jotenkin tässä se efekti ei oo niin silmille hyppäävä mitä Jewelissä. Lisäksi holoa tuntuu olevan vähän enemmän. Tykkään tästä joo, mutta jotenkin tää jää vähän vajaaksi. Kaikki oikeat ainekset tässä on... Mutta ne vaan ei oo täysin kasassa. 

Nubar Essence

Nubar Essence - 2 coats

Now this one... Is it enough to say I hate this one? Essence is a dirty, vintage pinkish shimmery polish with holographic particles... No, wait? Oh yes, there they are. I'm not really a big fan of this color and it was a personal disappointment for me to see how sparse the holoeffect in this one was. What also made this a bigger shame is that this polish only needed two coats, it was almost perfect with one... It's not the texture that I hate, it's the lack of holo and well... The color. :/ 

Sitten tämä tapaus... Onko tarpeeksi jos sanon, että vihaan tätä? Essence on tällainen... Likainen, vanhanajan roosa shimmerinen lakka, jossa on holohippuja... Jossain. Ehkä vähän. En oo tämän sävyn suurin fani ja oli aika pettymys nähdä, että tässä hologrammia ei juuri ole. Pullossa sen huomaa, mutta kynnellä se tuntuu pakenevan. Totta kai tämä lakka myös käyttäytyi täydellisesti ja vaati vain kaksi kerrosta, jo ensimmäinen peitti lähes täydellisesti. :/

Nubar Brilliant

Nubar Brilliant - 3 coats

After the disappointment of Essence I went for Brilliant. This is very similar with the Spark texture wise, the polish is very very sheer and barely visible on the first coat. The holographic glitter is very very fine in this gorgeously cold pink polish. This is more like it! But look at the VNL. :/ I swear it wasn't so visible in person! Macro is playing with me. Now that I think about it, this polish should probably be layered over another pink or a white base, that way the holo and the shade would truly get the spotlight this one needs. I absolutely adore the fine glitter.

Pettymyksen Essencen jälkeen siirryin Brilliantiin. Tää on rakenteeltaan samanlainen kuin Spark, lakka on erittäin ohutta ja läpikuultavaa ja ensimmäinen kerros juuri ja juuri erottui kynneltä. Holo on erittäin hienojakoista tässä ihanan kylmään vivahtavassa pinkissä lakassa. Mutta kattokaa tuota tipin rajaa. :/ Voin vannoa, että se ei ollut noin näkyvä luonnossa! Mutta macrohan tunnetusti paljastaa nämä asiat... Näin jälkeenpäin ajateltuna kerrostan tämän lakan varmasti jatkossa joko valkean tai vaaleanpunaisen lakan päälle, jotta holo ja sävy pääsevät oikeuksiinsa.

Nubar Treasure

Nubar Treasure - 3 coats

Aaa! This polish truly sparket my love for violet again. Treasure is in the same family with Spark, Brilliant and Absolute, and probably my favorite. I love love love this blue toned purple and the fine holograph particles. As this polish is darker than Brilliant, it was capable of better opaqueness compared to Brilliant and Spark. However this has the same VNL issue which is a shame, especially if you're an impatient person as I am. So the layering is a viable alternative for this one as well.

Puhutaanko hetki mun violetti-pakkomielteestä? Treasure kuuluu samaan perheeseen kuin Spark, Brilliant ja seuraavaksi vuorossa oleva Absolute. Rakastuin heti tähän viileään violettiin ja hienoon hologrammi-kauneuteen. Kattokaa nyt tuota pulloa! Koska lakka on tummempi kuin muut sisaruksensa, tää peittää myös paremmin. Valitettavasti näkyvä raja jää tässäkin joka on harmi ja hidaste tällaiselle kärsimättömälle sielulle. Kerrostaminen luultavasti olisi parhain vaihtoehto tällekin kaunokaiselle. 

Nubar Absolute

Nubar Absolute - 3 coats

Absolute is the blue beauty of the family. Light blue holographic polish that is very very sheer, just like the polishes that fit in the same category texture wise. The VNL isn't as clear as in the pink one but it's still there to get me sing the blues. Even with the VNL showing, this polish is still very cute and spring like, I can imagine myself wearing this one a lot, once again layered.

Absolute on perheen sininen kaunokainen. Ihastuttava vaalea, mutta kirkas sininen. Valitettavasti tääkin lakka on ohuen puolella, kuten sisaruksensakin. Kynsiraja ei ole ihan niin selvä mitä pinkissä lakassa, mutta se on edelleen nähtävissä ja aiheuttaa myrtsejä ilmeitä. Rajasta huolimatta tää on kuitenkin ihanan suloinen ja voin kuvitella käyttäväni tätä aika paljon, jälleen kerran kerrostettuna.

Nubar Prize

Nubar Prize - 3 coats

I saved the best one for last, Prize. Now this one is a beauty! It belong to the same family with Gem and Jewel but it's so much more! This one could be the rebel sister, gorgeous hot pink with larger, awesome holographic glitter. Check out the bottle pic! I love this one, I really do. After I got this, I've been wearing it already twice and I have loved the comments I've gotten on it. This is a bit on the sheer side but it covers pretty well with two coats already, but I wanted to enhance the look with the 3rd one.

Säästin parhaimman viimeiseksi, Prizen. Tää on todellinen kaunokainen! Samaa perhettä Gemin ja Jewelin kanssa, mutta niin paljon enemmän. Tää vois olla se rämäpää. Kaunis, kirkkaan pinkki lakka jossa isompaa, rouheampaa holoa. Kattokaa nyt tota pullokuvaa, voi sydän. Sen jälkeen, kun sain tämän kokoelman käsiini, tää lakka on viihtynyt kynsillä enemmän kuin kerran, mutta manikyyrit näytän vasta näiden swatchien jälkeen. :)

Overall I'm quite happy with this collection. Out of the 8, I'm only disliking two polishes to that ain't so bad. The sheerness of the polishes is a bit disappointing but these do have potential and will definitely work great on top of a creme. I'm quite happy to have this collection as I don't have that many holographic polishes so I don't regret getting them. :)

Kaiken kaikkiaan oon aika tyytyväinen tähän kokoelmaan. kahdeksasta lakasta vihaan ainoastaan kahta, joka ei ole nyt niin kovin paha. Lakkojen ohut koostumus oli pienoinen pettymys, mutta ei kuitenkaan isompi kompastuskivi, koska uskon näiden toimivan kauniisti kerrostettuna cremen päälle. Oon tyytyväinen tähän kokoelmaan myös sen takia, koska holoja mulla ei juurikaan ennen ollut. :)
