China Glaze: Electropop (Brights)

Good morning! Today I have you swatches of China Glaze's Spring collection called Electropop. As this collection holds 12 polishes and it's divided to two sets Brights and Lights, I decided to show you half of the collection today, the rest later. I can't promise when I will have the rest up as getting a hold of this collection was quite painful. I ordered these polishes from Nailsupplies.us which ran out of Electric Beat and Sweet Hook almost immediately! I ordered only 9 polishes from the collection and received them in less than a week. I found Electric Beat and Techno from my favorite eBay seller but they had ran out of Sweet Hook as well! I spent about a week spamming eBay and searching for Sweet Hook until I finally found it... So this was truly a challenge. ;)

Huomenta! Tänään vuorossa on swatchit China Glazen kevätkokoelmasta Electropop. Koska tässä kokoelmassa lakkoja on kaiken kaikkiaan 12, päätin jakaa nämä kahteen postaukseen. Tämän kokoelman hankkimineen ei ollut kivutonta. Tilasin nämä lakat Nailsuppliesilta, mutta valitettavasti Electric B eat ja Sweet Hook loppuivat lähes välittömästi. Tämän vuoksi tilasin vain 9 kokoelman lakkaa jotka sain alle viikossa. Löysin Electric Beatin ja Technon lempi eBay-myyjältäni, mutta hänkin oli myynyt kaikki Sweet Hookinsa. Jäljistin viikon SH:ta kunnes viimein löysin sen. 

Sunshine Pop

Sunshine Pop - 2 coats

Sunshine Pop is a mid-tone warm yellow with some lovely shimmer in it. Yellows usually give trouble to manufacturers and users and this ain't no different. Polish is definitely on the thicker side but not impossible to work with. I personally prefer thicker polishes than thin ones as you can always add some thinner to the thick one. The first coat of Sunshine was quite streaky which was a bummer but no surprise. However, because of the thicker formula, this polish evened itself out pretty well on the 2nd coat which was also all it took to get this opaque, 3rd coat would've been needed though, as my application was a bit sloppy.

Sunshine Pop on keskilämmin keltainen kauniilla shimmerillä. Tunnetusti keltaiset rassaavat sekä valmistajia että käyttäjiä ja tämä ei ole mikään yllätys. Lakka on koostumukseltaan paksuhko, mutta ei mikään kovin vaikea työstettävä. Mieluummin valitsen paksumman lakan ja ohennan sitä pikku hiljaa kuin otan ohuen lakan, jota ei saa paksunnettua. Eka kerros oli aika epätasainen, eikä todellakaan mikään yllätys. Koska koostumus on paksu, toinen kerros tasoitti ekaa hyvin ja jätti kohtalaisen tasaisen jäljen ja peittävyyden. Olisi tosin pitänyt laittaa myös kolmas kerros, koska lopputulos ei edelleenkään ole mikään kovin siisti.

Gaga With Green

Gaga With Green - 2 coats

Next we have this gorgeous, lighter green polish, I'd say this leans more to a warmer tone. And first of all, how awesome is that name? The formula in this one was a lot thinner than in the yellow one and it applied a bit patchy on the nails on the first coat. Even though the first coat looked so sheer, this polish only required two coats for full opacity. Yay! This polish wanted to photograph a bit lighter than it actually is so I had to tweek the photo slightly.

Seuraavaksi kaunis, vaaleanvihreä lakka, joka ainakin mun silmissä on lämmin. Ja kuinka ihana tää nimi on? :D Koostumukseltaan tää lakka on ohuempi mitä keltainen ja se levittyi hieman laikukkaaksi kynnelle. Vaikka ensimmäinen kerros näytti vahvasti läpikuultavalle, kaksi kerrosta riitti saamaan täyden peittävyyden. Tää lakka halusi myös kuvautua vähän vaaleammaksi mitä olikaan, joten säädin hieman kuvan kanssa saadakseni värin toistumaan oikein.

Aquadelic

Aquadelic - 2 coats

Aquadelic is a pretty, turquoise creme with green in it. The formula felt a bit watery to me, but even with that, the polish had quite nice opacity. Does this make any sense? I don't know if I got a different patch of this polish as most reviews I have read stated this is a thicker one. Might be that I didn't shake the bottle enough. Anyway, this polish does cover well and I needed just two for the full opacity which is always a plus. I also compared this polish side by side with For Audrey which is a bluer and a bit dustier than this... So no dupe there. I adore this shade on me.

Aquadelic on kauniin turkoosi creme, jossa löytyy häivähdys vihreää. Koostumus oli hieman vetisen oloinen, mutta siitä huolimatta lakalla oli hyvä peittävyys. Kuulostaako toi edes järkevälle? Tässä hieman ihmettelin, nimittäin aika monet ovat sanoneet tätä lakkaa paksuhkoksi... Ehkä mun sekoitus ei siis ollut mikään hyvä. Joka tapauksessa lakka peittää hyvin ja kaksi kerrosta riitti täydelliseen peittävyyteen. Lisäksi vertailin tätä lakkaa rinnakkain toisen samansävyisen For Audreyn kanssa, mutta se on sinisempi ja tunkkaisempi kuin tämä, joten dupeja nämä eivät suinkaan ole.

Make Some Noise

Make Some Noise - 2 coats

Next we have this gawjus warm pink creme that leans heavily towards orange. I wouldn't say it's a pure coral shade... But quite close. The formula in this is absolutely amazing in thickness, I was almost able to get away with one coat! I'm a huge fan of this polish, without a doubt. I don't care if the shade doesn't look good on my skintone because it's the formula I fell in love with.

Seuraavaksi aivan upea lämmin pinkki creme, joka nojaa raskaasti oranssiin. Tää ei oo täydellinen koralli, mutta aika lähelle.  Koostumus oli aivan täydellinen paksuudeltaan ja tää lakka peitti melkein yhdellä kerroksella! Oon tämän lakan suurin fani, mua ei haittaa tippaakaan jos se ei näytä hyvälle mun ihoa vasten, koska koostumuksen takia annan anteeksi aika pitkälle mitä vaan, niin täydellisesti tää levittyi.

Wicked Style

Wicked Style - 2 coats

Once again, if a polish has a name like this, how can I pass it? Well, I couldn't. Wicked Style is a pretty, bright pink. I compared this to Heli-Yum and I can say, they are not dupes but quite close, as Heli-Yum is in the same family, just a shade or two darker. Compared to Make Some Noise, Wicked Style is a bit thinner but it's very opaque. The first coat covers almost perfectly but it's a bit streaky. Two coats is all this baby needs to be perfect.

Jos lakalla on tällainen nimi, miten voisin katsoa sen ohi? No, en pystynyt. :D Wicked Style on kaunis, kirkas pinkki. Vertasin tätä Heli-Yumiin ja voin sanoa, ettei nää ole dupeja, mutta aika lähelle. Heli-Yum kuuluu ehdottomasti samaan sävyperheeseen, mutta on sävyn tai kaksi tummempi. Koostumukseltaan tämä on ohuempaa kuin Make Some Noise, mutta silti erittäin peittävä. Ensimmäinen kerros peitti lähes täydellisesti, mutta ohi hieman rannukas, jonka takia toinen kerros tuli tarpeen. 

Techno

Techno - 2 coats

 Next we have Techno, holographic hexagons and silver micro glitter in clear base. I'm not going to lie about this, I totally fell in love with Techno when I got the bottle in my hands. This is a gorgeous top coat for any color but I wanted to show it on top of black and white so you can see it in all of its glory! I used two coats to achieve the look in the swatch photo. Isn't this just stunning?

Seuraavaksi vuorossa on Techno, hologrammisia hexagoneja ja hopeista microglitteriä kirkkaassa pohjassa. Tähän mä rakastuin, en ees yritä väittää muuta! Techno on julkaistu jo aiemmin 50 glitters kokoelmassa, mutta sain sen hankittua vasta nyt. Aivan ihana, kaikin puolin. Kynsillä tätä kaksi kerrosta.

Final thoughts: I can say I'm pretty much in love with this part of the collection but there's a small part in me saying China Glaze is recycling the colors a bit as at least 3/6 in the Brights half resembles a lot to another China Glaze colors. Sunshine Pop is quite close to Solar Power, Aquadelic reminds me of For Audrey and Wicked Style is just a lighter version of Heli-Yum. I'm not 100% comfortable of having colors this close to anothers in my collection but as they are not full dupes, I can live with it. However, if one wants to avoid siblings, it might be a good idea to pass on a few. The other colors in Brights I definitely love and they are definitely my favorites in this half, without a doubt.

Viimeiset ajatukset: Kaikin puolin oon varsin ihastunut/rakastunut tähän kokoelmaan, mutta pieni vastarannan kiiski mun sisällä sanoo China Glazen kierrättävän värejä, koska 3/6 lakasta Bright-puoliskosta muistuttaa mua muista China Glazen lakoista. Sunshine Pop on kuin Solar Power, Aquadelic lähellä For Audreytä ja Wicked Style on vaaleampi versio Heli-Yumista. En ole 100% tyytyväinen siihen, että mun kokoelmasta löytyy sisaruksia näille lakoille, mutta koska ne eivät ole täysin vastaavia, voin elää tän asian kanssa. MUtta jos joku haluaa vältettä sisaruksien omistamista, saattaa olla ihan hyvä idea jättää muutama näistä ostamatta. Muista Brights-puoliskon lakoista ovat kaiken rakkauden arvoisia ja ne ovat myös mun suosikkejani.
