Independence Day nails

Good morning! Today I'm showing you guys nails I sported yesterday. 6th of December is Finland's Independence Day and for a long while I battled whether or not to do nails suitable for this theme. Most of the day went by studying for the Swedish exam (I'm having it right now,  as this is timed ,eek) but I couldn't stop thinking of suitable manicure... So of course I had to do it.

Huomenta!

Imo, Finnish flag is quite... Boring. The colors are blue and white, just a blue cross on white base. I wanted to stay true to the flag so I kept the manicure simple, but added some bling on it to make it stand out a bit more. I think this came out classic and simple, suitable for the image of this country. :) And as a small, one-woman rebellion, I decided to wear this to the Swedish exam!

Do you tend to celebrate Independence Day with suitable nails?
Onko sinulla tapana juhlistaa itsenäisyyspäivää sopivilla kynsillä?

  2. Hyvää itsenäisyyspäivää! I was in Helsinki for the 6th last year, so I was bummed that I had to be back in Canada for school term this time. Watched Halonen enter via YLE's live stream, though. :)

  3. This looks fabulous! Understated but chic.

If I can help it I prefer not to celebrate our national day in any way. Long story short I don't feel proud of my country, I don't even call it 'home country'. To me it's just the country I live in. Home is where the heart is and my heart has chosen a different country as its home long ago.
And yes, I envy those that feel pride for their country.

  6. ALY: Thank you! Blue is one of the colors that actually look good on me. The exam was quite easy, I think I passed it. :)

H: Thank you! It amazes me how many people know our little, humble country. I watched the Independence Day celebration as well, this time on Swedish channel!

    Shannara: Thank you!

Chester: Thank you so much for your comment. :) There are many things in this country I'm not proud of, yet in the end, I can't imagine calling any other country as my home. I love the four seasons and my family and those are what make a country feel like home to me.

Ashesela: Thanks! Finnish flag suits to Finland, I gotta say that... But it's not very challenging manicure wise. ;)

Nicole - Top To Toe: Thank you!

    rock-or-not: Thank you so much!

    Rose: Kiitos :)

  7. How did I miss this post of yours!?
I am LOOOOVING half-moon manicures lately but I cannot, for the life of me do them freehand,... nor does the binder reinforcement way work... I ALWAYS get "leaking under" :(
